Friends, we think we’re finally nearing the end, and it’s getting VERY exciting!!

We are busy collecting Air Miles. If you’re able to collect on our behalf for a little while, please let us know. If we can pay for our trip using Air Miles then we’ll have extra money to support a very poor orphanage in the Congo, and that would be a huge blessing for us!

Right now we need about 2,500 more air miles, and we have at least a couple weeks to collect them. Even if we can only get to Europe on Air Miles and then pay for return from there, that will be a significant savings.

So here are our plans in Kinshasa:

* Meet our sons and play with them for a good bit every day for a couple/few days, taking them with us whenever we think they’re ready

* paint Joah & Tabor’s orphanage (I’m careful not to mention which orphanage, so if you leave comments please be cognizant of the same, thank you!)

* put up some self adhesive letters, numbers and favourite english words on the walls to add a little colour and passive learning - for words I was thinking “Love”, “Play”, “Jesus Christ”, “Laugh”, “Mommy”, “Daddy”, “Family”, “Baby”, got any other suggestions?

* get out and about a bit with our sons so that they can capture some great memories of their home country before we leave

* lots of “just hanging out”, getting to know each other, getting comfortable together

We think we have found a well run, trustworthy orphanage in great need, so we hope to take soccer balls & a couple pumps and play with the kids there a little.  We also really want to bless these children and the care givers by preparing 1 or 2 meals while we’re there.

If we’re right about having found an orphanage to work with on an ongoing basis, then we’ll want to connect enough while we’re there so that we can work together going forward. It is our heart’s desire to have a long term relationship with an orphanage, being able to go back every few years to do missions work with the orphanage, arranging for anyone who wants to join us and try to help them get more partners.

It would be GREAT if a couple churches in our area were to “adopt” the orphanage and if, through these churches, God could provide nutritious meals every day, skills and labour to help the orphanage become self sufficient, the money required to care for the children in the same manner we would all want our own children being cared for.

Praise God that he has put us in touch with a couple people, and while we’re there we should be able to narrow it down to find 1 group to work with!

PRAISE GOD that we are Finally almost together as a family!!  We think it's possible that we could be travelling in as few as 4 weeks, as many as 16.  Please pray with us that it's sooner rather than later!
